I love the Italian Lakes

Italy by the Water

all seasons in one day

This is my first blog about travelling, although I love the exercise, the web bit is not so familiar to me.
So where to start, I guess its the Italian Lakes! My favourite is Lake Como, not because its more expensive than the others, (mainly due to George, his buddies and some Eastern European Oligarchs!) but because of the tranquility on a cold February morning, with a fine mist laying over a perfectly calm water. Behind are snow clad mountains, devoid of trees reaching into a clear blue sky. Cup your coffee at the local ferry cafe in Cernobbio and soak up aboslutely no atmosphere, just the peace!
A quick trip into Como for a bit of people watching and to meet the natives and then back the hotel (Villa D'Este) of course! The wind has gotten up by now and there is a fierce wind whipping across the Lake. Just in time to cosy up to a n afternoon of a good book and lake views whilst the snow flakes drift by!
